B.C. is participating in the Economic Mobility Pathway Pilot (EMPP), a federal refugee pilot program that officially starts on December 3, 2021. As a partner with IRCC to allow skilled refugees to immigrate under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

B.C. recognises that many refugees have the skills and experience to help address the province’s labour shortages. The EMPP is designed to help employers find skilled refugees for positions that can’t be filled domestically.

During stage one of phase two, B.C. will nominate up to 50 EMPP applicants under the BC PNP Tech. These occupations have strong labour market demand and earn high average salaries that will support the successful settlement and integration of skilled refugees and their families in the province.

More information, instructions, and details of BCPNP participation in the EMPP will be posted shortly on BCPNP’s website.
